A Rocha Canada

Theme: Sustainability/Environmental Education

Location(s): Surrey

A Rocha is an international conservation organization, and we work here from our environmental centre in sub-urban South Surrey We run a sustainable CSA program, do conservation science work in our local watershed, and educate children, families and seniors through hands-on experiences. The teacher candidates would be part of our environmental education team, along with three staff and 1-2 interns. They would assist with field trip programs for classes from preschool to high school, learning about local ecosystems (pond/river/wetland, forest, sustainable garden) and stewardship. They would also be involved in program and resource development and preparation for our summer daycamps. Our Farm to Families program, which works with vulnerable people and newcomers to Canada, focuses on food literacy and access, is also be part of our work.
