Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival/Bard Education

About our Company:

Bard on the Beach is Western Canada’s largest professional Shakespeare Festival—it offers Shakespeare plays, related dramas and special events from June to September in two modern theatre tents on the waterfront in Vanier Park. Beyond the Festival, Bard Education offers year-round programming for youth, adults, emerging theatre professionals and schools throughout the Lower Mainland.

Placement Details:

The three-week field experience will take place in our office at the BMO Theatre Centre,162 West 1st Avenue.

The placement will involve working closely with the Bard Education team to support program operations, such as Bard in the Classroom, Riotous Youth and Bard for Life. For Bard in the Classroom, the student candidate will have the opportunity to visit different schools and shadow Teaching Artists for workshops. They will help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all program participants.

Tasks will include administrative duties such as organizing and creating program resources, student guides and activities. The student candidate is also welcome to share ideas for projects they may have. We would like to make their experience as enriching as possible, and will try to accommodate if we can!

Associated Costs:

There are no extra fees, but there may be travel costs depending where the teachers are coming from. Our offices are located in the BMO Theatre Centre and our Festival location is Vanier Park.
