Be the Change Earth Alliance (BTCEA) is a Vancouver-based, charitable, non-profit organization that empowers individual and collective change for a resilient, just, connected, and sustainable world. Through one of our core programs, we create environmental and sustainability-focused curriculum materials for school classes. This successful and popular collection of curriculum materials, called the Student Leadership in Sustainability program (SLS), is now in its sixth edition and has been delivered to over 17,000 students in roughly 60 schools across metro Vancouver over the last five years.
Furthermore, BTCEA offers a number of environmentally-focused workshops for school classes, focusing on topics such as waste reduction and climate action.
"BTCEA is a wonderful organization and a perfect fit for any teacher candidate doing their CFE. I learned so much about their environmental and sustainable curriculum, and I can’t wait to use it in my own classroom. The staff was extremely welcoming and supportive, and it was inspiring to learn about all the wonderful things they were doing. I would highly recommend working there!" - Rosalyn Cameron, 2018 CFE participant
"Great place to come work after practicum. Really makes you realize how much you’ve learned during your time in the class and encouraging to see that you can implement your skills. Such a great, positive organization that makes you think about your choices and dive deep into your values. Everyone has been so welcoming and wonderful and it is a great atmosphere to work in! Happy to be part of this community" - Allie Barnes, 2018 CFE participant
