Camp Fircom

Theme: Recreation and Outdoor Education

Location(s): Outside the Lower Mainland

Description: Opportunities to lead experiential, nature-based (forest, ocean, garden and orchard) activities for Outdoor School and other groups, as well as the opportunity to lead traditional camp activities, such as archery, tie-dye and soapstone carving. Training would be provided so that Teacher Candidates feel both comfortable with and prepared for leading activities. There would also be time set aside for Teacher Candidates to assist in developing some nature-based curriculum and materials for our summer camp and Outdoor School programs.

Associated Costs: Teacher Candidates would live on site during their 3-week program experience. We would provide meals, accommodation and round-trip water taxi transportation between Horseshoe Bay and Camp Fircom (20 minute travel time each way).
