Environmental Youth Alliance Society

Each week, teachers would spend 1-2 days helping to deliver EYA's experiential nature education Nature Stewards program for vulnerable youth (age 14-18). These primarily take place at our outdoor programming sites in Strathcona and Cottonwood Community Gardens in the Downtown Eastside, about a 10-minute walk from our head office. Teachers would also review and provide feedback on existing lesson plans for the Nature Stewards program, and help to make improvements. Teachers would also support our Wild Minds School Program for Science 9 & 10, including helping to deliver 1.5 hour workshops in secondary school classrooms and reviewing and writing lesson plans, and helping to improve the existing teacher resource package.
