Equitas- International Centre for Human Rights Education is Canada’s most recognized and active human rights education organization. Working with over 75 partners, our regional office in Vancouver works across the Lower Mainland and BC in collaboration with municipalities, community-based organizations and school boards to build inclusive and accepting spaces. Our programs and approaches support partners to include programming rooted human rights reinforcing every citizen’s ability to be agents of change.
As a capacity building organization, Equitas works with our partners to reinforce their capacity to provide engaging and accessible programming that support staff working with children and youth, and the children and youth themselves. The Equitas team provides innovative tools development, training and coaching as partners integrate our resources to bolster their existing programs and curriculum.
Teacher candidates will be mainly supported by our Regional Program Manager to support the development of educational tools and resources supporting our programs to meet the diverse needs of students in British Columbia, review the program and new BC curriculum to validate links between curriculum subject areas/grades and program activities - develop workshop/training sessions that will build knowledge & skills, offer educational activities which can be used by staff/teachers link to the new curriculum.
The costs during the CFE have to be covered by teacher candidates. They will be mainly working in Vancouver Office, but occasionally may need to travel some partner organizations in different cities within the Lower Mainland. In these cases, Equitas is offering to cover the travel expenses to partner organizations.
