Fraser Academy is a fully accredited day school, which focuses on educating students in Grades 2-12 with language-based learning disabilities. These students are taught in small class sizes with up to ten students. Each student receives one-to-one language training daily and works with a variety of subject specialist teachers.
Students often come to Fraser Academy from mainstream public and independent school environments in which they struggled because their potential was not recognized. Fraser Academy recognizes their different learning needs and offers an educational setting that supports their potential.
Teacher candidates who choose to do a Community Field Experience will work with the Academy's faculty in helping students achieve their potential. This will include gaining an understanding of learning profiles and IEPs, as well as how to practically adapt the learning environment to address learners with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Teacher candidates will also learn how all program features are incorporated into the daily schedule to ensure that students never miss out on learning opportunities in the classroom.
