April/May is a busy and beautiful time to teach Outdoor Education. Teacher candidates would be working with our teaching team to help deliver a wide variety of outdoor programming. High and low ropes, moving water canoeing, aquatic and terrestrial field studies, hiking, camping and camp cooking, team building and much more.
The Norval Outdoor Education Centre has been part of Upper Canada College’s core offerings since 1939. Teacher candidates interested in helping students learn to appreciate and care for our fragile planet, and inspire many to be leaders in efforts to protect it, will not be disappointed. A CFE at the Norval Outdoor Education Centre will also expose teacher candidates to education in an independent all-boys IB context.
The school can provide two secondary students with room and board at no cost for the duration of the placement. Travel to and from our site is the only cost. We are located just west of Toronto. 20 minute drive from the airport. Public transportation is available from the airport to our location.
