Teacher candidates will spend time in their elementary or secondary placements in the communities of Osoyoos, Keremeos, Cawston, OK Falls, and Oliver. They will have the opportunities to see land based learning, inquiry learning with staff and students, Regio inspired classrooms, interdisciplinary programs, and inclusive education, amongst other promising practices.
Outside of the school environments, a wine tour will be organized so students can get a true sense of the South Okanagan and Similkameen areas. A visit will be arranged to see the Inkameep Desert Cultural Centre and the Jacques Villaneuve designed Area 27 racetrack in Oliver. On their free time students will have the opportunity to enjoy the lakes in Osoyoos and OK Falls. They will have the chance to golf at some of the best golf courses in BC or hike through the amazing desert hills in the area.
