Spectrum Learning Centre – SD 39

We have many opportunities for UBC teacher candidates to engage with the community at our school that do not involve formal teaching. We run a daily schedule that involves an agriculture, leadership, lunch program food prep (using food from the garden) and yoga class as well as academic courses. Spectrum is a program of Vancouver Alternate Secondary School. The primary goal of Spectrum is to provide students with an opportunity to complete grades 10, 11 and 12 in an alternative setting. Participants would have the chance to interact with students through community involvement and one-to-one tutoring if they wished.
