Theme: Science Education
Description:After a short introduction and overview of our non-profit company, the successful teacher candidates will be involved in creating fun, hands-on, engaging STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) curriculums. During the last week, the teacher candidates are expected to deliver their curriculum to youth groups who are underprivileged, underserved, and underrepresented in our community. Afterwards, the teachers will get a chance to reflect on their process to see what they can improve on and how this program can be used in the future. The field experience is beneficial to student teachers who want to give back to their community in a meaningful way and learn more about STEAM education.
The teacher candidate will need to bear all accommodation, meal and transportation costs for this Calgary CFE. In addition, they should bring and use their own laptop. The teacher candidate will be required to sign a STEAM360 Canada Foundation non-disclosure agreement that seeks to restrict the use of the information they may be exposed to during these three weeks.
