UBC Education Library

Teacher candidates with an interest in information literacy education, teacher librarianship, or the ways in which classroom teachers can partner and collaborate with academic librarians would be well-suited to work with UBC Education Librarians during their CFE. The specific project work can be tailored to suit the strengths, interests, and goals of the teacher candidate(s).

Possibilities for projects could include:

  • The development of information literacy lessons and resources for K-12 student and teacher audiences (may include lessons suited to school libraries or school library learning commons);
  • The development and leadership of programming for Pro-D days, weekends, and additional youth and family programming at UBC (e.g. Science Literacy Week, School Library Month, Science Rendez-vous, etc);
  • The development of programming or resources for the Education Library’s French or Indigenous collections;
  • Other projects related to the development and use of library collections and/or research tools.

Any programming developed would be delivered by teacher candidate(s) for events that occur during the CFE period and by Education Librarians at future events.
